Why I built Kibble
This started in a pet food aisle, holding a bag I wasn't sure about, wishing someone could just tell me if it was right for my dog.
I'm Luca, and I built Kibble in memory of my Dachshund, Duchess. In her later years she developed kidney issues that, alongside cancer, eventually took her from us. Through that time I spent hours in pet stores reading ingredient lists I didn't fully understand, trying to find food that would be gentle on her body and actually support her health.
Pet food marketing is loud and the real nutrition information is buried. The same bag is "premium" on the front and confusing on the back. And every animal is different: what works for a young, healthy dog won't work for a senior with kidney disease. None of the tools I found accounted for that.
So I built the one I wished I'd had. Scan the label and get a score for your pet, not for pets in general.
Kibble exists because pets deserve better than guesswork, and so do the people who love them.

Questions people ask
How accurate are the grades?
Scoring is based on published pet nutrition research and AAFCO guidelines, and every grade factors in your pet's breed, age, weight and health needs. Kibble is vet-informed guidance, not a replacement for your vet, so check with them before big changes to your pet's diet.
Does it work for cats?
Yes. Kibble grades dog and cat food, with analysis specific to each species. In a multi-pet home you can grade one food against each pet to see who it suits.
What if the label is hard to read?
Scan the ingredient list or nutrition panel for the best result. If you only have the front of the bag, Kibble will try to identify the food from the packaging and tell you how confident it is.
Is my data private?
Yes. We don't sell your data and never will. Your pet's profile, scan history and vet notes are stored securely and only used to run the app for you.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Kibble is iPhone only for now. Android is on the roadmap, and we'll announce it on our socials when it's ready.
